6.4.2. Check of pressure created by the fuel pump


Giving of tension of the accumulator additional wires for check of operability of the fuel pump on models with engines 1MZ-FE V6 since 1994.

The adapters used for connection of the manometer to the top part of the fuel filter

Pressure created by the fuel pump in the fuel highway has to make at least 3,3 bars.
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Uncover a fuel-filling mouth.
2. Check that tension of the rechargeable battery meets standard.
3. Take off pressure in the fuel highway.
4. Using adapters, connect the manometer to the top part of the fuel filter (see rice. The adapters used for connection of the manometer to the top part of the fuel filter).
5. Install the gear shifting lever in neutral situation and tighten the emergency brake.
6. An additional wire connect contacts + In and Fp on the control socket (see rice. Electric circuit of power supply of the fuel pump).
On models with the engine 1MZ-FE it is necessary to give additional wires tension from the accumulator to the fuel pump (see rice. Giving of tension of the accumulator additional wires for check of operability of the fuel pump on models with engines 1MZ-FE V6 since 1994).
7. Include ignition, but do not start the engine. Determine pressure created by the fuel pump in the fuel highway by indications of the manometer. If pressure too high, check a condition of the return fuel-supply line. If a fuel-supply line in the normal state, replace pressure regulator. If pressure too low, replace pressure regulator. If pressure does not increase, check a condition of the giving fuel tube, the fuel tank and the fuel filter.
8. Remove the closing wire on the control socket.
9. Start the engine.
a) measure fuel pressure on idling turns,
b) check vacuum in a hose and the fuel pressure regulator.
10. Switch off the engine and in 5 minutes check pressure of fuel which has to be not less than 1,2 bars.
11. Remove the manometer for measurement of pressure of fuel.
