1. Disconnect a vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator and instead of it connect the manual vacuum pump with the manometer. Start the engine and measure fuel pressure without vacuum given to pressure regulator. The manual vacuum pump create depression and repeatedly measure pressure in fuel system. At increase in the vacuum enclosed to pressure regulator, pressure in fuel system has to decrease. |

2. Repeatedly connect a vacuum hose to the regulator of pressure and check pressure in fuel system on idling turns. Disconnect a vacuum hose from pressure regulator, at the same time pressure in fuel system has to increase to maximum sharply. If pressure in fuel system on idling turns too high, connect the manometer to a vacuum hose and check vacuum. If vacuum is absent, check a condition of the switching vacuum valve (VSV). |

3. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between plugs of the switching vacuum valve which has to be within 30–40 Ohms. |
4. Using an ohmmeter, check that windings of the switching vacuum valve are not connected to weight. |
5. If pressure in fuel system too low, press the return fuel-supply line and measure pressure. If pressure does not increase, means the fuel pump is faulty. If pressure in fuel system sharply increases, replace the fuel pressure regulator. |
