8.5.4. Air stream measuring instrument (only engines 3VZ-FE V6)

Check of resistance between contacts of the socket of the measuring instrument of a stream of air on the engine 3VZ-FE V6

The measuring instrument of a stream of air measures amount of the air coming to the engine. On the basis of information from the air stream measuring instrument the ESM control unit changes the size of supply of fuel in the engine. The size of the signal created by the measuring instrument of a stream of air depends on the provision of a measuring plate.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the air stream measuring instrument. 2. Check the air stream measuring instrument for lack of cracks and other damages. 3. Check that the measuring plate moves freely and without jammings. Measure resistance between contacts of the socket of the measuring instrument of a stream of air.
